Just submitted nominations to the three free software awards. How should I celebrate if any of my submissions come true?
Last night, I saw a guy parked in front of shops on a busy road throw his door open into the bike lane, almost killing a woman cycling along in the process. She cursed his carelessness but rode on. He looked around, confused. Having seen it all, I told him "It's on you mate. It''s your responsibility to make sure it's safe to open your door." He was offended I would hold him to account. NZ's culture of 'reserve' means no one speaks out when they see others act inconsiderately. It's broken.
My personal email account’s domain is already blocked by the spamlist of many Gmail accounts I try sending to. If you’re the one sending the email, there is no way to report (that I know of, and I’ve searched) a false-negative to Google.
Today is the last in a series of frustrations, the worst so far. My email bounced again but it was:
- a reply to an email sent to me
- and was sent to a Gmail account that I’ve interacted with hundreds of times (so I’m obviously in their contacts). 1/2
It would probably be better if the word "NFT" was scratched from history and replaced with "digital trading card". That gives the right idea: you don't "own" any special copyright-like rights, and someone could always xerox it, but you might like trading it anyway.
FWIW, "digital trading cards" can be trivially done on non-blockchains (and for blockchains, resource consumption with proof-of-work isn't intrinsically required either), especially with ocap type systems.
