Great intro to everything you need to know to get started and beyond! 👏🏽

So it's "Press Freedom Day"...

Does it mean that US + UK will #FreeAssangeNOW and #DropTheCharges against WikiLeaks?

"Espionnage" charges against #Assange and WikiLeaks, if maintained, would create the worst precedent ever for press freedom worldwide. Every authoritarian country in the world could follow that example and do the same to censor any journalistic activity in the future..

#PressFreedom #FreeAssangeYesterday #WarCrimes

Respect Your Freedom Certification (RYF) - certification program encourages the creation and sale of hardware that will do as much as possible to respect your freedom and your privacy, and will ensure that you have control over your device.

#Icecat is not just a rebrand, it does significant changes from Firefox, that's why it can't use "firefox" name unlike Debian's version of Firefox. It also removes DRM from firefox's source code(Not just disable it).

And Icecat is not being maitained is not true, Just visit the Git page and you'll see recent commits.

Dont't use #Brave Browser.
I advice to read some articles about the fake #privacy browser:
aspenuwu.me/blog/dont-use-brav
and
ramble.pw/f/privacy/2387

There are more #free alternatives such as gnu #icecat, #librewolf, #palemoon

Libre Speed Test

librespeed.org

The page says "Free and Open Source Speedtest. No Flash, No Java, No Websocket, No Bullshit." and this is the better replacement to SpeedTestdotNet.

I know this one from @selea and @snopyta.

Icecat isn't a push over. It'd rather not show you the website that's unjust and mistreats you.

Youtuber tries to visit website that use non trivial non free Javascript, of course it wouldn't work.

To watch youtube --> use invidious
Reddit ---> old.reddit.*
Twitter ---> Nitter

There's also option for disabling #LibreJS or whitelisting complete websites using wildcard(non recommended).

@jrswab I also started using gnu.org/software/librejs/
To protect against javascript that doesn't respect users freedom
