According to plan, on July 1st, WeeChat will be compiled with Python 3.x instead of 2.7. The next stable version will use Python 3.x by default (2.7 is still supported with a build option).
Many scripts are not yet ready, your help is welcome, see: https://weechat.org/scripts/python3/
#WeeChat 2.4 now introduces Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) support, as well as a setting to choose the shell you want to use for /exec.
Congrats @weechat, on a new release! :)

The Python 3 porting party for WeeChat scripts started! There are 173 scripts to port to Python 3 (for now compatibility with Python 2.7 must be preserved). You can help us to reach the goal of 100% Python3-compatible scripts at the beginning of 2020!
Since today, the Debian packaging has changed in weechat.org Debian/Ubuntu/Raspbian repositories: the scripting plugins are split into multiple packages, so that Perl, Python, Ruby, … can be installed separately.
Important: if you are using the WeeChat development packages from weechat.org, you will have to install manually the scripting packages.
